Step 1: Inspect the yard in early spring before weeds appear unexpectedly. Look for them in “priority areas”: where winter damaged the grass, in pet areas, under trees in shade, and along paths where the soil is compacted.

Step 2: Prevention (Pre-emergent) Preventive products create a barrier in the soil that prevents weed seeds from germinating.

Timing: Use it when the soil temperature reaches 10–13°C for several days.

Sign: If yellow forsythia has bloomed in the yard, that’s your sign — it’s time for prevention!

Step 3: Removing weeds that have already sprouted If the weed is already visible, prevention will no longer help.

Hand pulling: Small weeds are easy to remove. Use a screwdriver or a special tool to remove the root completely.

Herbicides (Post-emergent): If there are many weeds, use special products (e.g., Dandelion Doom for broadleaf weeds). It is important that the herbicide is safe for the lawn and does not damage the grass.

Step 4: Fill in bare spots Do not leave bare soil. Sow new grass where the cover is thin. Remember: if you plan to seed and spray for weeds at the same time, read the instructions — after some products, seeding is only possible after a few weeks.
